I responded to an advertisementNov 27 2007Business - Management and Administration
I responded to an advertisement. I met with an enrollment counselor at the Schaumburg (Chicago) campus. I reviewed the course load and cost. I was given a math, english, and critical thinking exam which I passed. These were not required to enroll, but were used to determine some of my required course load. I applied and was scheduled for my first classes in about two weeks. I have paid for my education using student loans and grants.

I strongly recommend to new UOP students that they set aside a lot of time to read a large amount of material provided un the UOP texts and course materials. The majority of the course materials are on thjeir web site and may be downloaded or printed.

Also important is to get used to working in teams as you would in business. Be prepared to engaged in a lot of homework from week to week on a team and individual basis, as both are part of the course load.

I found their math courses to be as tough or tougher than anything I endured during my engineering education. A friend of mine who is a graduate of Massachussetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T. is a top ranked engineering university) said that UOP course demands in math were three or four times tougher than than he endured at M.I.T.

I would also recommend that new UOP students get used to a constant level of critical thinking needed in today's world. UOP stresses this feature in almost every course. Many of their professors are not only graduates of top ranked universities, but they work in the business world as leaders, and understand what is required for today's business environment. Critical thinking is a highly demanded quality that one needs to work in the current fast-changing business climate.

Lastly, do not put up with weak team members. If a team member will not quickly respond to efforts to help, then make sure the faculty knows. Surround yourself with strong team players, as this will greatly enhance your learning experience, and will add value to your degree.

All I did was fill out some formsSep 07 2007Business - Management and Administration
All I did was fill out some forms. I believe the name for these forms are called; "Student financial aid". Students, merely do a scavengerhunt for these forms, study them and answer the questions to your best ability. Good luck! -Your future Enrollment Councelor
